Raising Awareness in 7th Grade Students with Educational Games on Waste and Recycling

This research was conducted to determine the effect of educational games developed on “Household Wastes and Recycling” raising awareness this issue. In research, a quasi-experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group used. The study consisted ninety-six 7th-grade students in total from two secondary schools located province Rize district Çayeli province. experimental group, 29 were included while comprised 19 students. teaching subject Household Recycling, instructional plays called “Who Won Cup?”, “I Got it?”, “Reflection” “Ring!” by researcher played groups program activities science lessons used groups. quantitative data collected "Household Recycling Knowledge Test" administered all as pre-test post-test, qualitative “Semi-structured Interview Form” Quantitative analyzed using parametric non-parametric techniques, content analysis. It determined that household waste recycling are effective enhancing knowledge level regarding waste, recycling, advantages what needs be done for reuse. Instructional evaluated an tool cognitive affective aspects regard, it concluded facilitate learning, ensure inform, raise awareness, develop affirmative emotions or lesson, hinder boringness course lesson subject, help assure concentration.
